Summer and Autumn 2018

What a wonderful summer we have enjoyed and with lots of visitors coming down to Cornwall. The weather has been incredible.

We don’t always update this page as often as we should because there is so much going on as well as looking after our B&B guests. It has been a good year and we have met so many interesting and great people.

Poldark finished its fourth series which in turn brought people to visit the majestic Cornish landscape as well as to discover our mining heritage.

There are so many reasons to come to this part of the country, Cotehele National Trust House and Gardens is worth a visit anytime of year. Come and explore Plymouth Barbican, Lanhydrock and Saltram House.  Calstock is always worth a trip, visit the Boatyard for an informal tea, coffee and cake stop, check out what is going on at the Old Chapel Calstock Arts and the Calstock Village Hall.  There are great films as well as Arts, Music and entertainment.

If you enjoy hiking or biking we have Bodmin and Dartmoor. All of these places mentioned are within a short drive from UpDown Cottage.

So many of our guests are amazed at just how much goes on in this small local community. So why not pay a visit. You will be very welcome.

Our very best wishes

Caroline & Peter Hammond your B&B hosts!
